Folks, it’s Kacee. One story on the site today, and it’s a big one out of Israel, with voters heading to the polls tomorrow. Here’s what you need to know.
A treason probe demand on the eve of the vote. Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman on Monday asked Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara to open a criminal inquiry into Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on allegations of “treason,” saying Netanyahu has pushed security chiefs toward moves that risk a clash with Iran just before Tuesday’s vote. It follows a Channel 12 report Sunday of a confrontation between Netanyahu and IDF Chief Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir, which Netanyahu called “nonsense,” while Defense Minister Israel Katz said Israel had no plan to start an Iran attack before the elections. Keep in mind that a demand for a probe is not an opened investigation and is not a finding of guilt.
